Our Growing Water Smart Workshop brings local leaders together to craft action plans. Follow-up Technical Assistance helps implement them. Explore our resources and join the network of Growing Water Smart professionals scaling solutions to Arizona’s water challenges.
Since 2020, the Arizona Growing Water Smart Workshop has trained and helped leaders from 28 communities, serving over 44% of Arizona’s residents, to integrate water and land use planning.

Follow-Up Technical Assistance

Previous workshop participants are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 in follow-up technical assistance to help implement their Growing Water Smart action plan.

Previous Arizona workshop participants are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 in follow-up technical assistance to help implement their Growing Water Smart action plans. Recently completed Technical Assistance projects:
  • Pima County contracted with McGann & Associates to revise its Landscape Design Manual, including an update to require on-site stormwater infiltration basins to support landscaping. The manual was unanimously adopted by the Pima County Board of Supervisors.
  • The Town of Florence contracted with the University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center to draft sustainable water policy recommendations to be integrated into their General Plan.
  • The City of Avondale contracted with Carollo Engineers to update the water element of their General Plan with information from their Integrated Water Utility Master Plan.
  • The City of Apache Junction contracted with Carollo Engineers to develop a One Water approach for planned area developments.
